MSN SEO that will not affect G!
For highly competitive keywords, I have #1 position on G, and AOL, and top 10 for AV, ATW, Teoma and LS.
Other than link popularity, anyone know of any other SEO methods that can be deployed on MSN that will not affect my other rankings, especially my G ranking ? Last edited by fear.acid.news : September 7th, 2005 at 05:12 AM. |

Most of the stuff that works for G also works at MSN. If you've gat all the BLs you can handle, start working with onpage optimization. Its all the little things that will push you up. KW placement, meta info, clean code, alt tags, a great title, correct H# flow, etc.

I have found that Google and MSN seem to like the same things for SEO. IBLs and good onpage SEO. Don't forget your internal links too. Make sure your anchor text for those is the keywords for the page its linking to, and make sure no page is more than 3 pages deep into the site.

there's a couple thing i've found that MSN eats up and G hates
-duplicate content -keyword / meta stuffing -low quality backlinks -scraper sites stay away from that stuff and G will probably like your site better.

Thanks guys, I have a list of about 50 onsite tweaks that I want to do. Just wondered if there was something obvious I am missing!
As for BLs, very few competitors come close to our number, maybe its all down to the quality of them! I see I will have to invest in some link management software! |
