MSN search takes forever. No wonder nobody uses it

Anyone having problems with MSN search. It takes forever to load.

Frankly I haven't seen my rankings for a week because loading takes forever. My recent traffic on MSN is pitiful. Just wondering if others are seeing the same problem.

Dave

I still like msn for their quick indexing of new sites/pages. Especially pages that don't have a sh*tload of good backlinks ;)

My ranking there is not bad either, similar to G and Y.

I must admit the engine is not one of the fastest

MSN seems speedy and accurate to me. Their results also look a little nicer than they did after launch. I think they've successfully worked out a usable and legible results page that doesn't look like it was made by a 4-year old (like Google's)...

I haven't timed it, but I see no difference in response times between google, yahoo or msn.

I prefer msn for my searches, it returns relevant results and doesn't have too much spam (at least, not for the searches I make).

I rarely use google anymore, i get too frustrated with the pages of irrelevancy.

Geez, Rand: After finally beating the big ole ugly G this past Feb. I'm surprised to see your characterization of their efforts. LOL

Since Jan 05 my MSN traffic has fallen off. Still have strong rankings. Overall search traffic is up. Google traffic has soared. Yahoo traffic is up a bit. BTW I've never had more than 2.1% Jeeves traffic/month going back 15 months.

Just seeing a significant drop in MSN traffic w/out losing anything in their rankings. Wondering what the rest of you see.

Just curious if you are seeing increases or decreases in MSN traffic. In the last year, my search traffic is up about 30% from year ago last May; google traffic is up about 50%, Y traffic is up a little...and MSN traffic is down. We have the same overall MSN serps...just seeing less traffic. Anybody else seeing a drop in MSN?

Dave

My MSN Traffic is actually up... Perhaps it's a demographics issue, based on our respective markets.

The demographic for my main site is 18-35 and on the lower to middle income side.

I've heard that young skews Google, female skews MSN and rural/low-income skews Yahoo!

I had even heard at SES NYC that Yahoo! actually receives more searches for WWF and NASCAR terms than Google, despite Google having nearly 2X the number of searches each day... Someone made that point just to illustrate how much the demographic skews really do affect search engine traffic.
