MSN Search Preview

Lately I've been getting a few hundred, about 30% of total, referrals from MSN Search Preview.

I find that pretty strange, is anybody else seeing this. Also it seems that all those visitors don't convert to sales, can this mean that only competitors are using this or something else.

A hunch but I think they may be the MSN Bot. The last few days of the year on one of my sites the traffic of unique visitors shot up, I traced this to the MSN Bot.

Talking

I saw that bot on one of my newer sites before christmas and now MSN is the top referrer for that site.

Yeah MSN Bot is pretty high on my list too. In beta they have like 700+ pages in there engine compared to 16 in MSN main. They are playing catch-up with Google so they are taking time to crawl sites and get as much info as they can. Data is king.

Well the visits do not come from robots, they are from actually people searching. Just went through my raw logfiles and know for sure they are all from people and not bots.......

<edit>btw about 90% of those are from http://sea.search.msn.co.uk/spresults.aspx?q=, so from the UK not the US

The British must like pictures!

Just noticed there might be confusion about what I am talking about..

I do not mean the Beta version, I mean the original MSN version and that I find it strange that more and more people are using the PICTURE MSN Search Preview
