Msn, loves fresh content.

I have a few general obsorvations regarding ranking in msn, feel free to add to this, these are just my personal experiments.

If I target a brand new keyword msn adds my site within a week. The site is almsot always top 10.

If the page is left alone it then drops quickly, 3 new keywords i began to track dropped from 1 - 300ish

If you continue to leave the keyword and page alone it tends to "bed down" to me i climbed to about 70 and stayed for about a month.

Making daily changes to the page re introduced this "boost" and sent the site back to 1, leaving it again dropped it back to 70.

I decided msn likes fresh content, although it is not needed for good ranking. If your site has enough backlinks, and good onpage optomisation you do not need fresh content to rank #1, however you maybe temporarily tipped from the results by a new comer, or a large change on another site.

Possible ways to rank high for a long period :
1) daily updates
2) ontopic RSS feeds.

Intrested in others experience on this.

I bet when you posted this thread you didn't expect spam for and answer. I can give you a little insite. MSN does like fresh content. They also like lots inbound links and having your keywords in several places on the pages of your site. Title and H tags for example.
