Question MSN keyword
I was trying to search our site using our main keyword :

"diamond stud earrings" -- #5 in the result page

but when I tried "diamond earrings", it's in page 22.

Any idea why it makes that much difference ?

There is a little bit of muscle in the diamond SERPs. "diamond stud earrings" has a lot fewer pages competing and the search volume is also smaller.

Once you move up to "diamond earrings" you face all of the pages gunning for that specific term, plus all of their subpages gunning for any "xxxx diamond earrings" and "diamond xxxxx earrings". In addition you have the word "stud" separating "diamond" and "earrings" which deoptimizes you for that specific term.
