MSN Bleedes with its Update

MSN had done a algo change.

In one day I see huge drop in serps.

I do not know whats happening .May be MSN is heading in Google way.


A site of mine which has no appropirate title and related content but backlinks with keyword in anchor text is on page one of msn global.

And site which was actualy optimised is thrown out .

Can any one contribute whats now MSN doing or planing to do.

I don't know how this update will pan out. I have seen similar things as what your talking about. I hope that in the end, I will seen good gains in their rankings and not a huge drop.

We on the other hand improved to #2 from 6th for our most important key phrase. Overall quality in my area improved greatly.

i'm still seeing lots of spam - where did you hear of this update?

In this thread LOL. I did see some changes however in the area I am in.

i saw a nice thread at DP and another one over here - i agree.. i've been seeing some changes over the last few days, but now that so many people are going through the 'my site disappeared' mode, it's very obvious that an update is happening.

There seems to be a glitch in the MSN matrix.

Almost in the top ten now for a very 'bling bling' phrase.

My rankings dropped 50-60 spots for a site that was in the top ten for all of my keywords.

i've been reading a lot of posts by upset webmasters losing MSN rankings lately......

we all knew it was gonna happen ... the question was when .. - i still see lots of spam though, not nearly as much, but still a bunch.

but my website isn't spam. Does that mean the rankings may come back?

i wasn't saying your site was spam, i was just saying i've still been noticing a bunch of spam. if your site is truly quality my guess is that it will eventually come back... although nothing is certain in seo.

Well I gained for some sites and for major there is no gain at all.

There is definetly a change in MSN algo and what are the points they are consdering is beyond my scope.

Earlier Points I used to consider.

1)Title Tag
2)Relivent Content
3)Few Inbound Links


Now sites which are gaining

1)No mention of keyword In title tag
2)No mention of Keyword In content or seperate pages for that keyword
3)Back Links gained from Link exchanges through Anchor Text

Kindly mention yiur experiences we can carack this algo.

Well, I had manually optimized each page of my site, nothing over done, I just added a few bolds here and there, an H1 tag to each page and a relevant title.

Suddenly, boom. They all disappeared from MSN... I had quite a few top tens, around 50 probably - and now I have nothing.

Also, had only 12 back links.

they have change something and bring all back, that i see for my keywords, i don't see huge jumps or fall, all i see is from #3 to #1, from #1 to #3, and thats it....all other keywords nothing, i don't see changes
