MSN behaving differently lately

Has anyone noticed that it is taking much longer for pages to appear in the MSN search results over the last two or three weeks? It is not site specific. The pages are W3C compliant. When they do appear I am getting top placement.

I am confused... Do you believe MSN is broken because you are getting top placement, or because it seems slow in loading?

No, I understand the top placement. What I'm trying to say that, after MSN crawls my web sites, it is taking a much longer time until new pages appear in search results or until tweaks to existing pages are reflected in the search results.

Yes I have really noticed this alot over multiple sites. Whether its adding new pages or tweaking exsiting ones.

Updating of cache schedules can vary all over the map. I can sometimes get updated pages crawled and re-indexed in 48-72 hours. Sometimes it takes days. Nothing to do but wait patiently for the gods of search to bless us with the results of our changes.

I noticied the same! About 2 months ago I could get a good page rank in 4 or 5 days. ALL my seo pages had a really good position. But sundally it stoped to happen and MSN did not index any new page of my site.

Yes... indeed it looks like MSN bot is a little lazy these days, but not something abnormal.

Answering to "luzinha":
1) PR changes are visible at PR updates - there was no period when you could increase the visible PR in 4-5 days, unless it was right before a PR update.
2) PR has no conection with MSN.

"Lazy" or not, the MSN bot is doing a pretty good job--one of the best overall "Big Three" search engine results I've seen this week is for very competitive phrases in a financial niche.

MSN results yield more top tens out of 16 phrases than the other two se's. Five of these phrases have between 131 million to 191 million competing web pages for the terms! --Greg

Sorry to chime in so late here, but I've been out-of-commission....

MSN rolled out an update on the 23rd, but then then rolled it back 48 hrs later so you should be seeing the same results as before.

MSN has something wrong somewhere... it gave my website ranks within 2.5 months.. and i am sure that wont last for more than a week.. MSN is fast but Nuts.. just a mere change in title and boom my site on top..lol.. is this what MSN supposed to be?..

That's not a suprise. When I take on a new client I usually get them to the top 5 on MSN and Yahoo within 2 weeks simply by following a template I use...and they stay there as well. Of course they aren't divorce lawyers or rx companies, but they have very competent competition and very competitive keywords.

Gary, I'd like to know your Yahoo secrets... I get the love from MSN but not Yahoo for some reason.

well Gary, my site is doing well on both yahoo and MSN and is on Second page of SERPS in google.. And as you said, I think thats cool, and for me, its a surprise rather.. and i hope my sites also stay there for a long long time..Man you burnt the fire again.. got all my hopes alive..thanks
