MSN became Live and i lost all top positions.

I lost more than 75% visitors from MSN and all my top 10 positionce since LIVE launched. Is it wierd?

I think it will take time to understand how it works.

I've had the same issues... sucks too cause it KILLED my profits. I got about 90% of all my traffic from MSN and now it's all gone. Evil.

Well I also think that they have changed their algo.

Let's wait for a little longer to see what happens when MSN search results complately transfer to Live, I think it still is in transition.

I think that after new year we will se huge articles about strategies, success and tactics how to optimase...
If somebody will understand how LIVE works before others figure out.... this person will make good living for rest of his life.

Its stated that MSN has come up with a decent algorithm and thus the new sites has lost its rankings to the old ones.

Don't rely 100% on any one search engine because this always happens.

I don't think anyone relies on just one search engine, but in the beginning life of a website the placement on MSN can make a big difference to long term success. I design my sites with Google in mind for SEO and hope the other engines place it well. I mean... SEO is not rocket science. What's good for one site is mostly good for all sites.

I have gone down slightly with MSN, but we have gone up considerably with Yahoo. but it is hard to track all our keywords as we have a very broad site from shell night lights to aquarium pump and now even fish videos. Google has been its usual irrelevant self, but we do get hits from there too, mostly Adwords, Base, and surprisingly "Images".
Personally, even though we do best on Yahoo, I tend to prefer MSN (but I use Yahoo a lot- rarely Google) for my personal searches as they seem to be the most current with research and blogs dealing with aquatics.
