Msn backlinks

Not really of any importance, but I just thought it was funny that msn is reporting backlinks to a site it hasnt spidered yet, you would have thought it might have a quick look at a site before reporting it had backlinks !?

Have this happen all the time. We're a directory so our pages are pages of links to our site and some others.

Biggest problem for us is getting those links out. Google is good about that. Yahoo is very persistent - if it saw it once, it's going to keep trying.

Strange, indeed. The backlinking system seems to be very tricky in all three of them - google, yahoo, msn - I often lose orientation on how well the site is really evaluated, on how many backlinks it really relies upon.
Each search engine has its own count and even these counts seem to change over the time in a manner that I can only call "without apparent logics".
