lost on MSN

My site was #2 on Msn for quite awhile.
Last night it disapeered. I tried searching by domain name but home page does not show up only the inner pages.
No matter what i search I can't get any page of teh site to show up unless I search by domain name.
Anyone know what this is, was my site banned for no reason.

Probably just a random shuffling of the SERPs. Give it a few days to return.

Unless you know you did something to warrant a penalty?

I wouldn't worry about it yet.

I would not worry about it much unless you are gone for good... I have a couple of sites that are rock solid at #1 but occasinally go AWOL on MSN for a few days... then they are right back where they belong.

It happened to me too....I went from #1-#5 for about 2 months to #74. Absolutely no content changed. For a more competitive KW, I went from #31 to >100 at the same time...

What's up with MSN? Will we be able to depend on them for any sort of stability whatsoever? This has happened to me twice with them.

Look on this section of the forum and you'll see that this has happened to about 5-10 of us, at least.

Give it a few days and we'll see what's up.

Got a response from Msn.
All they said was If we do a search for www.widgets.com
your site comes up so it is in our index.

Are they increasing their index numbers -- that could explain some of it.
They must have some algorithm problems, we are well below a stale little blog that hasn't had a change/input since March!

It happened to me too from #3 to nowhere, I thoughed it was related to some backlink building I did recently. But now i'm not so sure, I'll just apply rule nr 1 of SEO: patience.

I noticed that I am #1 on the beta search.

I just checked. I lost some places yesterday. Today I'm almost completely out. Even for my URL and company names! It's tough seeing 20 KWs go from top 20 to not even appearing.

Hopefully this is temporary. I'll ignore it for a couple days and see what happens.

That's the plan. MSN doesn't send that much trafic to panick about and I know its part of the normal SE bahaviour to shufle things up. Maybe I'll come back stronger than before and have 30 top 20 KWs. That would be cool.

My positions dropped too.

I used to have over 2,000 for site:example.com now i only have 250.

Hope to see things return in a few days.
