Losing my listing in msn
hi,
I was ranking good in msn for so many keywords.
but now in live i m not at all ranking
can any one tell me what may be the reason ...

Results in MSN are relatively easy to obtain... but at the same time they are relatively unstable. Praise God when you have them but they can drop from beneath you unless you have a really established site.

Same thing for me... Lost ALL rankings. My site is very well established too... Can't figure it out.. Hopefully it will come back.

I think I heard gates spilled coffee on the server so that might be it I lost like 25 spots on msn for some reason hopefully it will come back before that I was #1 for quite sometime.

MSN is the nice SE which capture quality sites & deliver results where unique sentence useful informative title,description,body info. found. with limited used of keywords. only once upon a time.

my techniques successful now a days with msn.

Changes could to be in store.

Egol....we have a site that has been on-line for eight years and we were dominating the SERPs for most of our desired terms prior to the conversion to Live.com.

We were averaging 2,500 referrals a month from MSN and this month it appears we will get 2,000 in one of our highest trafffic months of the year. The 20% drop hurts at little but until Live.com was turned on we had been stable for years. We lost of a lot of good SERPs in this conversion for two word phrases and three word phrases but the less used four word phrases we are still on top.

I guess that is the SEO business. I plan no changes right now but if more of my business depended on MSN, I'd be really scrambling for answers. If anyone knows or learns of some new W.H. techniques that will positively impact MSN SERPs....SEND EM!

that's odd, i rank top 10 for coutnless top words for google but get 10 users a day. so i have the rank, but nobody uses that thing to search

Something to report in case you have not read about it elsewhere..... MSN's change on the 14th resulted in a new format for their listings in our referal logs. This has broken most webanalytics tools so that they report just a tiny amount of MSN traffic. The traffic is still there but as an unidentified referral. My SERPs at MSN still hold and the traffic is still there just not reported properly.

However, that traffic shuold be in my logs as something else (definately not googlebot ) MSN traffic really wasn't much anyways.

Similar things are happening ob our site too. We lost some ranking after live.com is live.
I think MSN algorithms has something change in live.com
we have to find out in which algorithms now they follow?

One of my client's website's has dropped from number 2 to page 4 over the last couple of weeks, I assume this is related to the live.com change. The Google and Yahoo rankings are easier at the moment!

Site positions
We too are seeing a massive drop in MSN traffic after the conversion to Live.

What is interesting for our keywords is that it appears to be a mixture of old sites (domain age wise) and new sites.

So for one of our search terms the results are as follows:

* No 1 site has a PR of 5
* No 2 site has a PR of 0
* No 3 Site has a PR of 3
* No 4 site has a PR of 0

etc etc
