I launched a new site 2 weeks ago, and am happy to see my site at #14 already on msn (its something to work from!) HOWEVER my site is for the UK market only, but it does not show up using msn.co.uk

My site is a .com

How do i let the spiders know my site is UK based, it is full of uk related terms already. see http://www.bigfreeguide.com

I own the .co.uk version as well if i need to use it, but all link building is on the .com version

Any suggestions?

They seem to check sites againt the whois information, at least this is what we've found. Also having the .co.uk name if your targeting UK is better as not only will you be found in more UK only search engines you'll also show yourself in the results as more of a UK company, and we know that goes a long way.

Is your site hosted in the UK?

Hosting is spread between america and UK. Depending on the load and location of the request they are sent to different servers.

I would think 80% of traffic would go to the american server as its the fastest and best hardware.

I have promoted using the .com domain, and with all the duplicated content im not sure how best to use the .co.uk name.

thanks for the help.
