Got my pages indexed!!

MSN has indexed almost all of my pages!!! I made a blog that had a link to all my pages a couple of weeks ago and i guess that helped MSN find them since it doesnt seem that MSN deep crawls websites. My rankings were not affected though.

Way to go! I had a heck of a time getting all mine indexed too, good avice you gave ^^^

I also had to make sure that the blog was in the index and found by search engines. I just put it in my signature for one of the forums i am a member of.

Another way I found out to be effective in helping MSN find and deep crawl your site is adding an RSS feed of your site to My MSN page. The RSS feed should of course have links to your different pages. Or additionally, you can add your blog's RSS feed to My MSN since in most blog hosting services those feeds are generated automatically and it's anyway easier to create an RSS feed for a blog than for a static HTML site (I have to handcode the RSS feed for my static site). However, if MSN knows nothing of your blog it might just not see its feed - in that case just add the blog itself and MSN syndicates it on its own. In my case, adding RSS feeds resulted in my site deep crawled by MSN within mere hours.

That was my intial goal but i was having problems adding my rss feeds to msn. I did it to yahoo and my pages did not get indexed at all

From my experience there are 3 steps to get your site indexed quickly (probably more, but these are the ones I use):

1) Get a reciprocal link from another site.

2) Setup a blog at blogger.com. Write up a a FEW GOOD posts with your link at the end of one or two of our posts. Add the feed to my yahoo and my msn. Then ping your blog at www.pingomatic.com

3) Head over to www.prweb.com and submit a press release.

Using these steps I have had sites indexed in less than 5 days.
