Creating A Big Site?

Can anyone provide guidance whether building a huge website or doing a bunch of relevant link exchanges will bring more traffic to a site?

Im not sure i follow you. If you can make a huge site without copying content and without lots of internal links, go for it, it just opens up the possibility for more inbound links.

If you are honestly concerned about MSN and no other search then you don't even need relevant exchanges. While I'm sure they help I really believe that with MSN is quanity over quality.

I have a large site ranked in the top 15 on msn for an extremly competitive keyword with all borrowed content(have given credit and links), and very very few relevant links. This site also does not show up anywhere on google or yahoo.

Hope that answers it for ya. ;)
