Banned By Beta?

For the last couple of weeks, my home page has ranked 1 or 2 in MSN Beta for the dominant key words and in the top 15 for most others. This Sat morning, my home page is no where to be found, even if I type in the name of my company! If I search for my company name in G the home page is result #1 even though we are not in the top 1000 for any relevant keywords.

I have been making fine tuning changes and adding keywords all along. Maybe I tripped some sort of alarm?

Please tell me this is just a weekend algo tweak.

They tweak it a lot, so I've seen kwds go in and out, up and down, on a constant basis. Keep an eye on it for the next week or so and see if anything changes.

i've been watching this forum and msn beta on a dayly basis from november.
i have a number one listing for my keywords on msn beta from day one.
But today a couple of pages where completly dropped out of the index.
i think they where banned for keyword stuffing, so i rund webseo and webposition
and webseo said i was keyword stuffing.
i didn't intend to i just use the keyword a lot in my phrases.
Today i deleted a couple of keywords from my pages and wil see

I'm sorry for my poor english in writing i'm from holland

Well, when I check from home(comcast), my home page has disappeared from the serps. But when I check from work (Pac Bell) my home page is #9 for the most popular keyphrase.

Maybe this is the Google dance, MSN syle.

Ah, the MSN dance is the jitterbug!

My sites jump in and out of good positions there too. Mostly in but can disappear occasionally.

It would appear, without having done a lot of analysis, that the beta is also catching some "black hat" techniques fairly regularly.

I guess I should mention that every day my home page is gone from the same keyphrase search results when performed from home and is always there whenever I am at work.
In one of my earlier posts, I wrote that the Beta seemed like a magic mirror, no matter who held it they looked great. Now I am beginning to again think that cookies or something similar might be in the search mix.
I know that my Comcast connection from home could be accessing a different MSN server than my Pac Bell service at work.

The strange part is the symtom never changes.

Could be a geotarget thing like Google does (based on the location of your server or proxy) which is known to render weird (but persistent) differences in the results.

Can't argue with the fact that the MSN beta is still moving and twitching. It shows "disallowed" pages on numerous occasions. And my site's results (link: site: and normal serps) seem to be getting more and more jumbled up. A couple of my pages lost their title and I don't even rank #1 anymore (well TBH anywhere - I stopped looking on page 4) for my main keywords OR my site's name. Very ominous I must say.

I used to like it a lot, but of course with my own site dropped like that, I won't really be tempted to use it for my regular searching that much

What I'd like is some feedback from them for a change Maybe I triggered a penalty of some kind, or maybe my SEO style is just too old-fashioned

That's my fear.

I can not put any search phrase in that returns my home page except the url itself.

It used to rank #1 for the main keyphrase.

Somewhere else someone mentioned alt tags with too many keywords in them. His defense was that the site used a lot of pictures, all of them related to the keyword.

Since Beta doesn't look like it is updating the cache for my home page in 10 days, it's hard for me to evaluate any corrective measures.
