Hmmmm... Interesting! The new MSN search isn't afraid of indexing pages with sessionids!
I am sure they are going to get this corrected soon! It shows some really weird results now! |

It's back now. The results I'm seeing look pretty good too, althought they could do with grouping pages from the same site perhaps. Regards, S |

It's not looking too bad. I would say more like Yahoo than Google.
Some keyword domains seem to be working well and they could definitley do with just listing one page from the same site. You can also do a link:http://www.domain.com search |

I sure hope that's close to the final product 'cause I am ranked #1 and #2 in my top keywords!

Actually, I kind of like the new MSN search. The sites that I have that don't do well in Google or Yahoo do great in MSN's new se. Of course, the reverse is true as well. But that's ok. At least this way, I'll have traffic coming to all the sites from one venue or another. Will relieve the stress of the "all your eggs in one basket" problem.

Looks like another Google UI rip-off to me; that's okay though, my site is ranking well so I'm keep quiet about it.

I like the feedback link... find a non relevant, spammy site and there is a link right there to report it.

Those result's are just funny. I have one keyword which I am number 4 in Goggle, 1 in MSN, Yahoo and Alltheweb, the new MSN search said "Sorry, no results were found"

Go to MSN dot com... it's live now... and the report link is gone. Must have just been part of the preview.

I think the new MSN search is better...then Google, not more powerful though.
Its easy to get a good position in MSN with good content, Google is more bothered about PRs, which the back link idea is good as more people will link to good sites rather then rubbish ones, however, can knock relevant sites out to others just with a better overall Page Rank. My mates site which isnt SE friendly i.e. no meta tags etc. and made it to no.1 on the new MSN search, the same query on Google takes you to page 22-36. Dan |

I'm finding a great difference between the results from the preview page and the results from the "new" msn.com search. In the msn.com results I'm seing a lot of entries from shared web space from geocites and the like - I'm wondering if MSN are seeing one massive site and thinking "that must be good".
The preview gives much more useful results - the same stuff in the same order but without the geocities rubbish. It's good to see competition hotting up in the search engine market. [edit] Uur - I get it: The "new" on the public MSN page refers to the style rather than the results. The results we see in the preview propogate "later in the year". They do look pretty promising at the moment. [/] Last edited by VORD : July 1st, 2004 at 04:51 PM. |
