Yahoo local canada

How do you add a Canadian business to Yahoo local? Or is this a US only feature like with Bing? When i go to try to add a business to yahoo local i cant put in a postal code vs zip code and cant put in provinces vs states.

Anyone?

As far as I can tell the only way to get on Yahoo local in Canada is to have your info registered with yellowpages... kinda strange I agree, but I can't see any other way to do it as they aggregate their data from Yellowpages.ca in Canada.

The only drawback to registering with yellowpages.ca (it's free, they also offer paid packages) is they reequire a GST/HST number from your business. I think that's too much info to give them personally, but if you're comfortable with it, great

Cheers

does bing take their info from YP too then?

I just focused all my energy on google and crossed my fingers- everything seemed to work out but I'd be interested in exactly how it worked out.

Yup. Bing also aggregates their data from the Yellowpages group.
Google is by far your best bet in Canada, although it doesn't hurt
to diversify

I'm not sure exactly what you're doing with Google DecksandFences, but make sure you fill out as much info as you can on your Places page, verify your places page, submit your business info to citation and directory sites and get your customers to review you. This alone will really help your rankings in search engine results for a local business

Cheers
