Register for Google Places for a service thats international
The service on my site is for people in any country and its not any more relevant for someone local to me than anywhere else.
I heard that registering with Google Places is good for seo, but since my website is for a worldwide service -- i dont want google to think its local -- is it better not to register with Google Places or is it still better to register?
thank yous

Google will not think your site is local just because you signed up for Google Places. However, note that there are some restrictions related to Google Places. In order to be eligible for a listing you:
- must have a physical address
- must service clients in or near the area where your physical location is
- must have a phone number, preferably with local phone code
Google Places could only help you if you target local customers, i.e. it will not help you in any way if you target worldwide audience.
