Feedback on new business ranking
Hi everyone,
I've been working on a business doing organic SEO primarily, but also some local search. After 4-5 months, I have literally nothing to show for it. The details are as follows and I'd REALLY appreciate feedback:
The competition doesn't really exist in this industry as you'll see if you take a glance, e.g. 'home cleaning brooklyn', 'cleaning service brooklyn'; the top listings have a couple reviews, no citations, and some of them don't have websites or citations or anything else. In fact some aren't verified or even claimed as far as G+ goes.
If it just takes forever for new businesses to show up... fine. But if I'm missing something obvious it must be something pretty big that others can quickly note. The business has expanded to 14 other cities and I'm not even bothering until I see results from the Brooklyn location, which is a huge shame as local results are crushing the top of the page for a lot of great keywords :/
Thanks so much everyone.
p.s. great forum, I'll be giving back around these parts where I can.

How happy are your clients? would they write a review for you on Yelp etc?

We have reviews on Yelp and similar sites for the Brooklyn location. We had a few on G+ but they were deleted (I was told probably because they had never left reviews before).

Is there any chance it's solely based on the fact that we have a merged local business / g+ page? I had asked Google to do that--they didn't do it automatically... I assumed it'd be a positive thing, not harmful. Should I try to back out of it?
No one, including the "big guys" in local search, have had any answers for this whatsoever so I feel like spending time on local right now is a complete and utter waste.

I'm confused...
Is it the site in your first post? if so what do you mean you have nothing to show? I see it in position # 3 and #1 for a couple of the other terms you speak of.
One thing I would do is change every & to the word 'and', which won't do much but still.

Mind providing a screenshot? I can't finding the listing anywhere through multiple locations and/or IPs.

Shoot me an email, I created a screenshot but this new software here keeps telling me it too big.
