Citations - Company Name With / Without Ltd

Question about NAPS/Citations, something I've come across a lot recently is company name inconsistencies where the company is limited, so you end up with some instances with 'Ltd' appended and some without/

Logic tells me this shouldn't be an issue but I would be interested if anyone has any conclusive evidence if it matters if NAPs are a mix of:

    Company Name Ltd

    and

    Company Name Limited

    and

    Company Name

    Thanks

It doesn't seem you've actually asked a question.... do you have one?

This is a complicated question which I have done research for - sadly I don't think there is an answer. Different directories have different requirements and will choose to display your company name in different ways. There is no getting around this, as far as I can tell. You should probably strive to be as consistent as possible. Knowing that this problem exists and there is no foolproof solution, I would hedge my bet that Google realizes this and there are probably no major downsides as long as you make the effort to be as consistent as you can.

In other words - my research gives me the impression that you should try and make them all the same. But if you have a handful of outliers, it's probably fine.

I have no proof, but that is what I think as well.

Never assume logic in these scenarios.

Personally, I'd suggest that you want 100% accuracy across all NAP listings on citations.

In my experience, Rd vs Road, Ltd vs Limited, make no difference to Google. Not that confident about Bing.
I would also believe Google's "intelligence" would be limited to the major, common abbreviations. So if it's an obscure one, esp something only found in your area, then I agree with Terry - get picky about the details.
