What kinds of back links are considered the most powerful?

Hi All the forum members!
I am here to share a question and hope you all guys are gonna help me!
My question is what backlinks are most usefull or effective in making any website rank in search engines. Well I am quite familier with do follow, relevant theme, domain age and pr but still not able to create comprehensive result doing this all.

What do you think is the best way to create effective links.

Please help!

Quality backlinks are important for SEO. You can build backlinks by social bookmarking, forum posting, article submission.Link exchange with relevant sites and links from dmoz are considered as quality backlinks.

Quality backlinks and niche backlinks are more important.

the most powerful backlinks for your blog are those with high PR and very few outgoing links and very much related to your niche.

Again, I'm no pro, but here's my thoughts:

'.gov' (Government) and '.ac' (Universities) are reputedly the 'best' to get links from, but of course a website which has gained 'trust'/'authority' (through some of the stuff you mention) with the SEs would probably still be better.

Comparing a '.ac' with 5 good backlinks with a '.com' with 10 - I would probably be inclined to go for the '.ac'.
Comparing a '.ac' with 5 good backlinks with a '.com' with 100 - I would probably be inclined to go for the '.com'.

- I currently don't have either but one [.ac] in the pipeline.

Still looking for good (easyish) ideas - but I think anything which is easy - everyone would be doing.

I know it sounds 'boring' but creating good, useful, interesting, original content or service is a fundamental starting point to making your job easier - more chance of being linked to (arguably, some would say "if you don't have that - what are you doing anyway?").
THEN, do the rest: contacting webmasters, investing in adwords (to let people see the 'good content' and potentially naturally link to it), submitting, posting etc. etc. - even bought links (if you are that way inclined) are likely to look more 'natural' if they are not pointing at something rubbish!

Really like the Link Building Using Expired Domains idea http://forums.seochat.com/link-popu...ins-172904.html But need to invest time finding and learning more.

What is the point of this question? Do you have a choice? Are you saying that someone has offered you 5 links out of a choice of 10?

The best links are the links you can get! All links help to a degree. Just some link help more then others....

I think the question is effectively 'which links help more than others?' - so he knows which ones are worth pursuing more.

Sorry if I confused things by mentioning numbers - was trying to demonstrate what I 'felt' the 'worth' difference could be.
