Nowadays what is role of Manual directory submission for link popularity.

As i think its a cheap and best way of quick promotions till now.

Good way for one way link but we have to be aware about directory categoriy.

what i believe is that directory submissions wont do much wonders for you in the current scenario.....it might just help you to get your site crawled a bit more and a bit of a tits and bits traffic now and then.....their linkbacks wont help you much if you are counting upon them for increasing PR or anything like that....

Yes if you want to get rank in SERPs and PR, You will have get back link from relevant website. Ok but only for PR relevancy is not important on link is important.

But how can you say that directories links are not beneficial to improve our importance.

I think there are some condition by which you can change your normal directories links to quality backlinks for your site.

As i know for free submission approx 30 to 40% directories will use your url to give you backlinks thats why its not much important but if directory give you backlinks from your title in which your placed your primary keywords then link will be treated as quality backlinks and it will counted also by search engine as important links.
