Posting on a blog link vs text link
I went to a blog that I like that has relative content to my website and when I post a comment on the blog I put my web address in and now see in my google account that those links are showing up as backlinks. My question is, is will that have the same weight in SERPS as if the webmaster put my link directly on his blog as a basic text link on the main page?

many blogs follow a 'nofollow' method in the comments field. for this reason i believe a direct link on an original article would have more weight. keep in the mind tho that you may or may not be able to control the anchor text for that link. make sure it relates to your site and includes some of your keywords.

what is the anchor text exactly the descriptionor the title of the link? Also I tracked one blog that i commented on and see that i have them as a backlink from commenting. I dot no have a link on their page but just from commenting. Will that have value? |

well it probably will if its a quality site with not massive amounts of external links already on there. certainly in terms traffic to your site it will be beneficial.
and anchor text is the actual text you see in a link. so instead of just writing your web address, link descriptive words relevant to your site. |
