Outsourcing Links...

I understand SEO after going through a detailed SEO course.

2 factors

1. On page

2. Off page

I've done number 1, I did all the on page stuff myself.

I want to outsource the off page stuff (backlinks) - I need about 2,000 of them in 3 months to beat my #1 competitor on the first page of google.

How much are you all paying for backlinks?

Are you paying by the hour, by the link, etc - and where are you hiring people for this?

Please advise.

One of our own staff members does linkbuilding. That assures that the information is not sold to competitors, that the link request messages do not make us look foolish, and that the person doing this very important work has a stake in our success.

Thanks for the reply.

How much are you paying by the hour for link building?

And if you had to pay per link, how much would you pay...

I'm a noob at this game, and don't want to overpay.

This is like saying how much do you pay for food. Cheapest are free.. The most expensive may cost 100s of thoushand of dollars...

I assume you do not mean are you paying per hour the link is live.....

You seem to be heading down the wrong path in you view of how to get links.. Do you mean hiring people to create link bait or hiring a company to arrange third party links, or hiring someoen to sit and do directory submission and article submission for you... These services are very different and cost different amounts of $$$$

Please advise.
You question is to vague and lacks focus to give you and helpful advice.....

Best of luck anyway..

The requests are done by a salaried staff member who is paid a professional rate.

Links are like people. Some are worth an awful lot and others are a waste of time.

If you have nothing to link to then you will overpay.

The number isn't all that important... 200 can beat 2000 simply by investing in higher quality. [I don't mean higher PR]

My sig identifies one alternative but no matter which way you go... be sure you know what you are paying for from the outsourced agent.

Link requests, submissions, inclusions, and just listings are not the important parts.

Will they offer you any value...?

The only links worth paying for are the ones that work...

In my design I risk acquiring the "duds"... the only ones you get are the ones that actually do something "each and every one".... and as such you probably don't need 2000 - 200 or less will do.

I think the measure to judge incoming links is what value add them to potential visitors? How many people are looking to the directories you're adding links to? Don't be fooled by the fact that a directory has a pagerank 5 on the homepage, your link not be on the home page and will not be the only link on the page. If something is easy to do everyone will do it. Do you think you'll be able to overtake everyone by adding more links than they do?

Remember that mass linking means mass zero.
