Need a little advise with backlinking
I have been doing a lot of research on SEO over the past 6 months. I have went to dozen of websites and forums. I really like this one and have read a lot here. I have also read the book "The art of SEO" which I would recommend to anyone new as it helped me out a ton.
Anyway, I grasp the on-site SEO very well but need some advise on the off-site portion (building back links). I know going around and spamming your links on blogs and forums is not the way to go. I understand you need quality links from related websites.
I started up a website design company vividcustomwebsites.com and want to get it into the top 3 for the term "tulsa website design" or "tulsa web design". I was like 400 or so until I did the on-site optimization portion and it moved me up to 28 (this is on google). I can't seem to pass this point but it looks like its because I need some quality back links to raise my authority, trust and page rank <-- 0 at the moment.
I started a blog but not really sure how to promote it. I submitted the pages to Digg but know one seems to Digg them at all.
I guess what I am asking is how would I go about obtaining backlinks for a website like this. Should I be posting these "blog posts" on facebook as well? Just a little insight would help.
Thanks Everyone.
