It's not a very beneficial strategy... seems to work rather well for MSN but you're wasting your time if you want success in Google.

It's not a "problem". Things are supposed to work that way. Most forums have "nofollow" links that the search engines do not count.

Why should your website rank better just because you post a lot of "me too" and BS posts in forums? Those posts do nothing more than waste your time and stink up a forum.

Spend your time creating great content.

hotelaudit agrees: My opinion is same the key of success always around the great content.

I agree with you point because he/she just expending only two months and getting link from forums and expecting show their links in Google.
First thing getting back links from forum is very least impact in Google maximum forum use no follow links
Only two months is not enough Google updating is generally after four months
Google back links command doesn’t show accurate back links check your back links in Google website tool or yahoo explorer.
And if you really interested in SERPs then get back links from relevant website.
Write good content and submit it SB sites

It could take up to 10 months; it depends on many factors. Keep working on what ur doing now, forget about seeing ur backlinks on google.

Cheers

Check Yahoo

When you want to check the benefits of your linking, I recommend you check through Yahoo instead of Google. It's a better judge of your efforts because they count more inbound links.
