After reading your great article, I in fact have a question for you GURU's, Gary outlined that you shouldn't link to a page that has "link" or links" in in the URL.

On my website, I have split my links page into 5 categories:

..../links-briefcases.html
..../links-accessories.html
..../links-lifestyle.html
etc

Is this not good?

Should I change the the url to read something like:
..../partners-briefcases.html
..../partners-accessories.html

Infact my links main page is .../links.html. Should I change this immediately?

Hi there,

Firstly I'm new to this site, as you'll see, and new to this SEO game in general. Secondly, I would like to thank GaryTheScubaGuy for such an informative and useful post, this forum in general has been of a great help to me and I'd like to thank all the posters regularly divulging useful tips etc.
Anyway, the purpose of my post is the above quote, which I can't quite seem to get my head around. I was hoping somebody would explain it for me, taking into account I'm relatively new to this and obviously a bit thick!
Thanks upfront for any advice you can give me.

Question for GarytheScubaGuy

Hi Gary,

I was wondering do you use any of these software packages that affiliates sell to automate things for you? For example, SEO software, linking software that claims to help your PR, or do you do everything manually?

Thanks

Sorry it took so long to answer this. I still don't know how I found it. I use dozens of bought software, in-house developed software, around 25 people and another 12-15 outsourced, along with many, many, many other things.

Sorry, no short easy answer.
