Link Bait Idea
I am in process of implementing a custom Magento shopping cart in to my site. It got me thinking of a link bait idea.

I will create a free theme for the Magento users and add my link into the footer. Is this worth my time? Even though I may not get related links, what are your opinions to this idea?

Is this idea regarded as a getting sponsored links? And if it is, will Google even do anything about it?

As the saying goes, a link is a link. With that said, you will only know how it works if you try it. What you and I may think is a good link bait idea, may be a poor idea in the eyes of your visitors and vice versa.

I say try it as you will get first hand information of what works vs what doesn't work for you. Let us know how it goes...

It's a great idea! Undoubtedly some will remove your credentials in the footer, you can submit to MANY free theme sites and get links that way too.

been there done that its not an affective way to get links cuz people do delete the links even if you tell the they cant
