Killing the "Home" link
Just curious as to what the thoughts are on the "Home" link that is found on most website navigation menus today. As far as SEO is concerned, it seems like we should drop this in favor of a keyword rich label. When every page on the site has a link back to the home page, it seems like a great opportunity to add some quality hyper link text instead of something as general as "Home". Or is this more of a usability thing and we should include the quality text links within the content of our sites?

Internal linking is very important. So yes: try and come up with something imaginative (but still subtle) instead of Home.
PS: also make sure that it's the VERY FIRST link (to your homepage) on the page you're editing, including logo links, or else it doesn't really matter what you do to it...

This is a good idea, but as someone said, don't do this at the expense of usability. Yes, a button with an image of "Home", but anchor text of something else might do the trick - it's got me thinking now!
