So you're taking to approach it's better to give than receive?

I don't think that will work in link development Mr SEO.

I had a directory that was "free" and it got 1,000 submissions a day... and we were reviewing 10 a day... just because you can find a bunch of sites with "free links" and "good PageRank" doesn't mean you'll be accepted in 2008 or 2009.

Try searching Google for "free list of high pagerank directories" although keep in mind that if you can find it so can a thousand other lucky souls

Instead of wasting your time looking for directories I would suggest you look for unique ways of improving your site into a natural link bait which will cause webmasters with high value sites to link to you without even asking. Believe it or not this takes less time than submit to a list of 5000 directories and is highly more effective... but if you still want that list after me and Fathom telling you it is a waste of time then I believe I have a file somewhere with them which I will sell for $50

One last thing... Rod has a very good point, even if directories were highly valued by Google(which they are not) and they were the best form of link building(which they are not) it would still be highly ineffective because of the fact that good directories get pounded and generally review very few submissions compared to the overall submission rate. So if your site is good enough to get into one of these "good" directories then most likely your time is best spent in other forms of link building and link baiting.

Unfortunately directories dont really pass much LJ anymore. Your better off spending the same to writing good content, or even brainstorming ways to create link bait. There are a few paid directories that are still worth it IMO but they are getting sparser by the month.
