How to get one way link via link baiting

let i've written something special or controversial to get one way link. But here my question is when i've done this and it's live on my webpage then how can i get one way link ?
do i need to promote this news to get one way links ?
in what ways can i promote this news or how can i distribute this news into public so that i can get some natural one way links.

hi john. i think this kind of link bait would need a certain amount of traffic to begin with - to allow people to start telling others about it (ie linking to it), or be so extreme or so special that people raise bells to signal its presence and hunt it down.

Do you have a steady stream of traffic already and is the article extreme or extremely brilliant? You will probably only get one way organic links, if the information is sensational, useful or particularly entertaining.

Once you have created a link bait you need to know how to promote it so as to start attracting links.

To start off with, you may add a small banner linking to your content on the homepage of your website/ blog

Next, you need to figure out the right audience for your content, once you figure out your audience profile you need to check where these kind of people hang out [forums & communities] and give out your content there, maybe in the form of a profile signature.

Of course you need to submit your content [bait] to social media websites such as Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon, Delicious etc

Also place a link in your email signature.

Once you can place your content in front of the right audience and if your content is good enough - you will soon find it attracting a lot of links

If you are writing enough and have extreme news, give your visitors an option to subscribe to it via an RSS feed or create a newsletter monthly to summarize what you've done the past month or email a new controversial or extreme article to people who sign up. If they find it controversial enough, they'll do a lot of the work for you.
