Site wide link all pointing to your homepage will count as one link and the anchor of the first link that Google crawls will be credited.

Site wide links pointing to different internal pages with different anchors will pass more value to your domain.

Go for domain popularity [links from multiple domains] and not link popularity [number of links irrespective of domains]
