Google Receiving Links

Hello. I have done the forum stuff, PR, and trying to form reciprocal links. its going okay, as some of my keyterms have entered top 10.

However, I am not sure why google is still not picking up the links, as I keep getting the statement below. I have only been SEO'ing for a month, but I feel I should have at least one~!!

Where am I going wrong?

James

Your search - link:ww. URL address .co .uk: - did not match any documents.

Hiya,

I have been having exactly the same problem, but the thing with Google is that they intentionally give incomplete link data. I'm not sure why exactly, but it's useless trying to find backlinks using Google.
I'd advise using Yahoo's site explorer, which is much more accurate and you're more likely to find sites that are linking to yours.
I hope this helps

Thanks Steph. You have any idea of how frequent yahoo updates the links? As i started this project a month ago, and it still has the same number of links, and i have been very proactive in the link building approach!?

Who cares if your links are showing up if you are ranking? Links take a while to show up in Google and even Yahoo sometimes... and even then you may not(most likely will not) see all the links there are currently valuing. So focus on the rankings and not worry about if Yahoo is publicizing it yet

Agreed. A tool I like to use besides Yahoo Site Explorer is www.backlinkwatch.com/index.php. Besides that, you have only been at it for a month. If you continue to build good content and use solid SEO tactics then you will start seeing backlinks. Dont sweat them right now. They will come.
