Check your Google Webmaster Tools account. It will show them there.
But honestly though, how do you not know this, yet are selling SEO as a service? This is common knowledge anywhere you would ever go to learn about SEO - so it strikes me as somewhat odd.
I'm not trying to be mean, I'm really just wondering why you're selling SEO if it is something you don't have experience with..... That's not to say you can't do it and can't do it well, I'm just saying you need to keep up with the industry.

we actually don't sell SEO services at all. I've been employed by this client to work on their website and they are paying an SEO consultant to give them things to do which they are in turn asking me to implement (which is good for me as I'm learning SEO along the way).
I have checked google webmaster tools and it says we have 86 links but when we check the link popularity tool on the seocentro website it shows 0 in Google. If it's easy and common knowledge could you please direct me to where I can learn about it?

That tool probably just pulls data from a link:domain.com search on Google. Such a search will provide correct info in Yahoo, but Google only returns a sample of the links they have. When the entire set is relatively small, then zero results are often returned (especially with new sites).
If you want a more complete outlook on links, just use Yahoo site explorer (just search for link:domain.com from Yahoo homepage will get you there).
Best of luck in your learning endeavors. If you ever need any help, feel free to ask.

thanks for your reply. Unfortunately that tool is what thisclient is sticking to using, which, if it's not accurate could provide some problems. Are there any other tools we could use to accurately monitor backlinks?
