Bad Neighbourhood Identification

Now i am submitting my site link to many directories , how would i know about bad neighbourhood and which one is credible?

Any directory that posts all URLs submitted is probably linking to bad neighborhoods. If there is editorial control then it might be a good one.

Generally I won't worry about this if just submitting... links to you cannot harm you... if you need to provide a link back a quick review of existing websites included will be (as EGOL noted) of comparible quality to you.

If you find loads of viagra, poker, and other less desirable websites (that can only get links from websites that care little about quality control)... better to avoid linking to them.

Is there any way Google can automatically check that directory accepts all links or has editorial control? I did not know Google has this feature in its algo.

I disagree that links can't harm you.

Being in the wrong neighborhood would devalue link building efforts
