Backlinks from Squidoo Lens
Hello Everyone,
I recently bookmarked my blog on delicious.com from different email accounts and now my bookmark is no 1 for Grooms speech.I found that delicious is placing links of my blog with grooms speech as the anchor text on squidoo lenses that are related to wedding.Are these links which delicious is placing on different squidoo lenes dofollow?? Will they have any effect on my blogs SERPS ranking? As I am not seeing any difference in my rank with those links.

Much!!! I cant find any change in my ranking.However I have read several articles that said backlinks from web 2.0 sites like squidoo and Hub pages are really good for ur ranking.I am gettiing 8 backlinks from different squidoo lenses all related to my blogs niche.But still no change in my ranking? How is it possible?

Because they're not worth much. Sure it's a backlink, and if your squidoo page is good and content rich it could be a relevant backlink. However, setting up multiple pages just to link back is bad taste and a waste of time. I would make one, fill it with GOOD, READABLE content, put a couple links with decent anchor text and move on.
These aren't going to make or break your SEO, it's just something to get out of the way.

Those are not my squidoo lenses.These links are placed by delicious.com on squidoo lenses that are related to my niche..As I bookmarked my site on delicious.com and my site is No 1 for that keyword in there list of bookmarks.So Delicious.com is placing links on squidoo lenses..Are they worth anything?? I asked this question..

and me saying "I have played with Squidoo pages before just to test and can tell you they will not do much for SEO."
Has not answered your question?! I think you have to good replies, which should tell you to go on and work on some better links. I know you siad you didnt make the links, but still forget about them and do some proper linking work that will help your site before you loss your current rankings on google matey.

YOu can use squidoo and hub pages as microsites for the promotion of your services. For core seo purpose, as already been discussed, no they do not make much difference. But yes if you use them as your microsites they can get you some good traffic. As they have good dominance and can rank very quickly for your keyword. And you can make it as a medium of traffic to your actual site.
Well this practice is less of seo and more of search engine marketing.

Squidoo itself is ranked highly, but I guess that an individual page on Squidoo won't rank very high unless it has quality links *coming in* to the lens ?
I don't think all individual lenses automatically inherit the high PR that Squidoo itself has ?

Right on. I have seen some lenses creep up the SERPs over time.. perhaps Google does something where they de-value new pages like this and will bump it up a long with references/links to the lens..(not saying it's true, just thinking out loud) Otherwise, they just built up links as Atle said, or, you are seeing it on a keyword/phrase with very little competition.
