Could the backlink be from before they added the rel nofollow?

This update is one that has taken into account a big length of time and i have backlinks that have just turned up that no longer link to me.

dis information is just as good as mis information lol

could have done it to cut back on spam...who knows...lol

To early to make judgements IMHO regardless of what you see in back links.

As a test there needs to be a site that is new and has never been indexed that is linked `with nofollow` from a site in that is listed in all the engines.

If the bots find it and index it then they are not oboying it.
Its as simple as looking in webalizer or Awstats to see if they have visited the site.

I am linking to a page from a PR4 page using rel=nofollow and it is not indexed anymore. It had 1 other link from another page and when that was removed the pagegot deindexed.

Google never said that a rel=nofollow link would not be followed by gbot, or even indexed. They just said that it wouldn't get "credit", whatever that means - LOL

People can all assume it's the equivalent of the robots meta's "nofollow", but no-one confirmed (or denied) that.

I think its suppose to follow isn't it? Its just designed to not add a vote to rankings? So a page would be not voted up by that link but google would still follow it and maybe even update its cache but I don't think it will help your rankings at least thats what I thought.
