    The most accurate way to measure backlinks?

    Hi,

    I am searching for the most accurate way to measure back links from a competitors site.

    I have tried using the 'link:"keyword"' operator in search engines but I don't think 'm getting accurate results (having tested it on my own site)

    Is there a program or something thati can use to get accurate numbers for this?

    Cheers

    Nothing is perfect, but I've found that Yahoo Site Explorer has been the most complete for the sites I've looked at.

    There are many SEO tools to measure website back links. But, I refer to use Google web master tool. If you have access of Google web master tool so, You can see & get more ideas about back links.

    Yahoo explorer can give you the good result. Backlinkwatch is up to 1000 results only.

    Yahoo site explorer, backlinkhunter, and a site called wholinkstome.com can be used to reliably determine how many other sites link back to your site.

    Tried backlinkwatch and I don't like it all;

    It does not give the PR of pages, and only shows a 106 links to my site where webmaster tools shows 507!

    Therefore I cannot use backlinkwatch to analayze a competitors site, as it will only show 20% of the actual links...

    I would rather use Yahoo site explorer or linkscape from SeoMoz.

    There are many tools available y which you can check your backlinks. Some of them are like open site explorer, SEO spyglass, Majestic seo but i my personal favorite tool is Google webmaster tool.
