Depends on how good your website is...

Have you tried ASKING webmasters for a one-way link like you would ask them for a link exchange?

You can get one way links with submitting to directories and articles.
They give you permanent one way related links.

I have submitted my site to hundreds of directories and my rank on google jump.
Just put your keyword in anchor text of those backlinks and your rank should be better.

Here is one my list of directories :

Getting one way links is totally depends on your site. If your site is good then it helps in getting one way link. To improve number of one way links, just submit articles, prepare blog & add fresh content in your site. This will help you in getting one way links.

Just asking nicely to some will actualy get you one way links... I have received over 50 one way links just by asking (had to send out over 500 requests to get the 50).

Take the time to compose a nice personalized email to each webmaster of the site you are interested in and you should see decent results.

I've done that too... but too many times people forget that we arranged things that way and come looking to the site they are linking to and see no link back and pull the plug on the link forgetting about the original arrangement.

Not saying don't do this... just identifying the risk and the problems that you MAY face with this type of link exchange.

Links from one of your websites to another of your websites can be the most dangerous links.

    • MrLeroy agrees : EGOL strikes again. So true. We got 2 sites penalised for this reason, be careful, VERY careful.

Unless they are on-topic - surely.

Not necessarily, whois can open up a can of worms if a human ever has to take action on your site.

Well, yeah, but if you're doing nothing worse than link from your orange widgets site to your blue widgets site - and maybe even link back from there - then how could it hurt?

I was not suggesting setting up a SE spam network You have to be careful if you wanna do that LOL
