Building Backlinks

Wondering if this will work for backlinks. Say I own a real estate company and I have 25 other realtors that have their own websites on different hosting platforms/ip's etc.

Would it be beneficial if we all put a page on our websites with backlinks to all the other companies? So all together each site would have one page with 24 other companies on it linked to their sites?

Indeed, it would be very obvious to google that you were going against the guidelines with both of these.

Excessive link exchanging ("Link to me and I'll link to you")

Building partner pages exclusively for the sake of cross-linking

And you may have soon found your site and partner sites penalised for it.

Just a waste to have that many others in the same industry and not be able to take advantage of it.

Maybe I am just old fashioned. But, to my way of thinking I would have all of the real estate sites link as you proposed, BUT not MY site.

I would then find every related site in the geographic area and entice them to link to MY real estate site only. I would scheme and drive my site above all other real estate sites in the area.

Bottomline: It is foolhardy to help competitors stay even or competitive with you. It is called competition. Kick their butts.
