Which page(s) are most important?

Hi all,

I've spent a couple hours looking through various posts on this forum before submitting my very first posting. Looks like a great (and informative) site!

Here's what I'm wondering...

Is the keyword density on ALL pages of our web site taken into account when the SE's scan/spider our site, or do they rely mainly on the content of the main page of the site (i.e. default.htm)?

If we have high density of our keywords on our main page but a much lower density on the remaining pages of the site will this affect our overall PR/ranking with the SE's or do they "ignore" the majority of the text on the remaining pages?

Thanks!

Hello redoc and welcome.

I have wondered about that myself... and I don't know the answer. But... I belive that the more pages you have on a particular topic the better off you are for any of their rankings. If they link to one another then maybe some theme carries across.

I know from experience that it seems easier for me to get good rankings for widgets on a widgets site than it is to get a page up for widgets on a peaches site.
