Trouble with Forum keywords

I am having a hard time finding the right keywords which will drive traffic to the forum. My page rank in 0 because it is new. Is tough to deal with high pr sites. If anyone has some good ideas I would appreciate them. The forum and site is reguarding Autism. It is designed for parents to help one another within the spectrum of Autism.

Check out http://www.wodtracker.com, http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ ( or http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/ as it shows results from both WordTracker and Overture on the same page ), http://www.seoelite.com or http://www.keyworddiscovery.com to see what people search for.

My suggestions is to write a 2-4 sentence description of the page you are optimizing. Then pick up the relevant keywords in your sentence. After picking up the keywords, list all the relevant keyword variations. Then use Google Traffic Estimator Tool to find the number of clicks per day. You can use this formula to convert average clicks per day to actual searches per month:

Average clicks per day= (Min clicks per day+ max clicks per day)/2

Average clicks per day x 1500= Estimated Google Traffic 1st page (month)

Then decide which keywords to choose based on that data. you can also check the competition using google adwords. The lower the competition, the easier to rank your keywords.

Hope this helps.

If this is a new forum start simple...

Just don't worry about the hard to SERP keywords right now.
Build up your community credit first, become known as an expert in the field.

Type up a few relevent articals and post them in your forum, then ask some questions that will get a response.

Go to other forums and chat with members do not openly advertize but keep your signature link on everything!!!!

I have seen a number of people start forums and those who are well respected in the comunity about what their forums is about naturally have many followers from day one, those who just start a forum with no community credit usally fail.
