I looking for a tool that will allow me to view how many times a keyword phrase has been searched for. Does anyone have any suggestions?

There are several tools for keywords selection. among these tools i think adwords.google.com is good
You can also use VRE toolbar. It gives monthly search volume of a keyword from different country.
