Random Google keywords - earthlink-peoplepc-wssynd
Ok guys, odd question but I seem to be getting a little traffic from people typing in "earthlink-peoplepc-wssynd" into a google search. It is beyond me how my website is connected to this phrase, as it has nothing to do with earthlink or peoplepc or the last word. It seems that many other people are showing up for the same search.
http://www.google.com/search?source...oplepc%2Dwssynd Anybody got a idea about these keywords?

Go to Google, type that query and look for your page or site in the results. Once you locate it, just click on the "cache" link and those wourds should show up highlighted.
EDIT: Wow, this is strange, I am seeing all kind of strange results, some of them look like doorway pages, like these: http://www.international-meds.net/earthlinkpeoplepcwssynd.htm Most of them are just visitor statistic pages, and lots of porn sites Weird... ![]()

Well the problem is I can't find my page in the listing, nor have I ever to my knowledge ever used those keywords at all. They look like words from a specific ad or something. Not to mention all the pages that use this keyword in the page name. Strange. I have been monitoring this phrase fro about 3 months. Until now traffic was nothing except one or two. So far this month its been 36 visits from google. huh?
Where is Dan Theis, he is the keyword guru, maybe he can provide some insight. ;-) |

I see exactly the same thing...
earthlink-peoplepc-wssynd is the fourth most common search term hitting one of my sites. When I go to google and search that term or that term + my domain name, I can't find anything close to my site.

maybe google is trying to correct what they think is a misspelling and just find the closest term? its beyond me what that term would be though.

http://search.peoplepc.com/ It's most likely an identifier from where the search came from but is tagged as a Google search since both use Google. I dont think they care that much about branding and dont hide the fact it's a Google search like Yahoo! and other used to do or still do. Users are finding the keywords just the log analyser is picking up the identifiers thinking they are keywords and the terms that were used just get calculated to your regular total. |

EGOL, you seeing that too. Interesting. I hope your selling lots of "earthlink-peoplepc-wyssnd" these days. They just aren't converting over here. lol.
Pk, ok that makes a little more sense. I am tracking with several analytic tools, and the one that picks up this search is Awstats. I guess they are almost hyper sensitive in terms of what they are identifying as search terms. |

Thanks PK... I will bet that you are right.
Phoenix.. I am also seeing a lot of sites that have grabbed blocks of my code and are republishing it on their own site. These are showing in my backlinks and in my allinurl I'll take the PR and the link pop but I don't think much of the sites that are doing this. |

I've seen alot of site scrapers recently aswell. If you goto http://www.copyscape.com you can find almost all that do. As long as they display a link I believe thats not infringment. If there isn't a link than a nice email should be sent. But I dont believe anyone will even read it. Those sites are usually only up for a month or so. |

EGOL, I have a few people scrape some code from my site. Sent a few cease and desist letters to some hosting companies. But the reason I avoid a lot of plagarism is because people can't highlight my text due to the fact of the XHTML and CSS layouts. They can copy the code. I also manage this with robots.txt, letting Teleport, wget, and many others scrape the text and code, but doesn't prevent the determined.
How do you handle the sites that scrape your content? Quote:
PK! I love this site. You shouldn't of given it too me, in the 30 seconds using this tool, I thought of 20 different ways this could be used for SEO, affiliates, etc... Nice. |

I know this is an old thread. But I was just looking through my stats and I seen this search term. I have actually been seeing it for months. I finally did a search for it and thought hmm, interesting that seo chat is pulling up for this. Anyway, I have been getting a lot of searches for this term too and for several months. I just figured it was on my forums somewhere.
