PR6 - 178 BL and our Keywords Bite. Help.
Our site; www.thrillnetwork.com is a very active site. Home page content updated multilple times in a day. Forums very active.
We have a PR6 178 Back Links But most of our main keyword search results are really pathetic. We use DigitalPoints keyword tool (love it) to track our keywords. But they aren't doing much better over the last few months. I attched a CVS file. Any help in getting us better keyword results would be mucho appriciated. Thanks.

I'm no expert at getting forums to rank, as I don't have any forums, so I can't help you there. However, just from looking through the site, I see some things that might be problems. For example, you use urls like http://www.thrillnetwork.com/ride_view.php?id=796 . That id= is a bad thing for google. G thinks that's a session id and won't mess with it. And it would be much better if it was something like ?park=Cedar Point . Also, using that page as an example, let's assume you are targeting the keywords Cedar Point. That phrase only shows up once in the body, and not in the title or anywhere else. In fact, your title seems to be same for all pages. You're going to need individual titles optimized for each page with the keywords you are targeting for each page (same for description). And beef up the content on each page so G really knows that the page is definitely about the keywords you are targeting. hope that helps.

Yes that does help.. Thanks. We didn't realize that about the id= makes perfect sence now that you said it. That should be an easy fix I think. I'm not so sure about the Title, keywords in metatags being diffent for every page. Is their a way to automate that?

Anything can be automatic with PHP just create a source file and call the titles dynamically.
Also make sure to apply mod_rewrite like DD said. |

we are converting the id= to resovle to the park/ride names in our DB and also will add the names to the title. But how do you control dynamic meta keywords? Each park/ride in our database would have their own specific keywords then. right?

dont worry about the meta keywords. google ignores them anyway. some search engines do look at them, but even those don't place a lot of value in them. so if you find it too difficult to deal with, i would say you could let that go.

nope, pk and zoo, i didn't mention mod_rewrite - but i probably should have. and i would have if he'd had more than one parameter, but since he didn't, i figured why muck up the waters? LOL.
