Poison Words - could this play a factor in SEOChat.com problems.

poison words

I read the above article with interest. I am fairly new to SEO.

I was wondering if there is a definitive list of words (the article mentioned Bookmarks, Links, Resources, Directory, Search Engine, Forum, BBS).

Also, does anyone have any more information on where you can/can't use these words. e.g. URLs, page titles, page body etc...

Mat

I agree with gringo.

Another article that's written from a theoretical, speculative point of view.

Don't believe anything you read unless there are at least some statistics to back them up. I have "links" on many of my websites in the top 10 of the keyword phrases I target.

People like to write articles without enough testing to just write another article. Just to get more traffic. Just to get some free publicity.

I read the article about poisoning and would have more comments but it seems to be down at the moment.

I've read a lot of articles that just made no sense. They obviously didn't do any research or testing.

One that comes to mind, banner articles. People write articles like "Banner adertising is dead!" They obviously don't know how to create a banner that works and they haven't tried, otherwise they'd know it still works and wouldn't be wasting peoples time.

Then again, the more people they influence the cheaper, easier it is for me to use them so.
