Since Yahoo! now owns Overture and has its own new search tech, does Overture's frequently searched words list reflect Yahoo! search results?
In other words, where does Overture get those lists from now?

overtures stats are based on ad distribution through their partner network (msn, yahoo, av, atw, etc) and I believe something like a 5% sampling of clickthrough rate.

these stats can often run rather high since many bid checkers and automated bots scour through the overture partner network.

wordtracker provides more accurate results.

digital point has a free tool which compares the two.
