Looking for Advice on Keyword Suggestion Tools

Does anyone have extensive experience using
the various keyword suggestion tools out there and can
offer comparisons between the major tools, ie WordTracker,
Digitalpoint, Overture, and Google Adwords.

Which do you recommend offer the more accurate
estimate of keyword searches?

Are there any other tools or resources out there that
you can advise on?

WordTracker's formula for their search numbers
seems a bit confusing.

Well the digitalpoint tool is based on Overture and Wordtracker. So no point in comparing those. Google's suggestion tool is very nice because it's based on Google data (the others are not). Also, if you have a AdWord account, you can use it to get an estimate of searches per day (it will tell you the estimated clicks you will receive per ay).

Overture and wordtraker numbers for popular keywords are inflated by at least 30%-50% 'cause SEO people keep search. search and search. Our Google Popularity Calculator is more conservative.

Speculation?

I can't imagine that very small % of searchers, such as those involved in SEO, could alter estimates by 30 - 50%.

I don't personally trust the SEO Caculator...even if SEO Pro's are bumping the #'s a bit in the keyword results, the engine wars are changing weekly, if not daily. If you optimize for a specific keyword(s) you have to wait a bit to see if results take place to your liking. From there you have to take many things into consideration for enhanced success.

I would stick with the DigitalPoint Tool for now, and see how your results flux, then base if from there....

Besides, Keywords are not the only consideration in SEO anyhow....

For a great free tool that makes things much faster and easier than going to Overture, I love goodkeywords.com I never go to Overture anymore because GKW saves my searches and does a whole lot more.

Some of these people are really compulsive on checkin their SERPs.... get up in the AM.. check SERPs... go eat breakfast... check SERPs ... brush teeth... check SERPs... take a ****... check SERPs.... etc... They can skew the numbers significantly.
