Long tail keywords

hi all
i have a pregnancy information website. i know this is a very competitive industry and I ahev looked at keywords used by other pregnancy websites. Am i right in thinking that i should use long-tail keywords in my SEO? If so, what kind of keyword phrases? for example, if looking at weekly pregnancy info-how do i make this long-tail?

Search traffic and other sites

You should find out (use Google adwords tool) what the search numbers are for certain long tail phrases. Than check and see what comes up in actually searches. Some phrases might not return to many actually results. You will find out what phrases are easier to target for some results.

The best long tail keywords are direct/ aligned and relevant to your business or services. So if you are going to decide for that , make sure that when people are typing that phrase in Google and they go to your site, your content or services should provide the answer.

From my experience with long tail keywords, you get a lot of long tail searches by accident. It's pretty funny for me to look through my search stats and see how people find my sites.

Hi,
I recently heard about a cool tool that not only tells you the search volume and advertiser competition for your long tail keywords, but also gives you an accurate indication of whether people are actually purchasing something when go to a site opimized with those keywords. I'll try to find out more, such as the name of the tool and where to get it. Peace.

I think your right on Clickz, these are some good suggestions. You can come up with more of your own, but keyword suggestion tools are handy as well, when it come to these.
