Thanks

Lightbulb

Yes.. It is good to have it in bold. Better to have it in page title, headings and sub headings.

I went with white text on a black background, for product-display reasons, and had to put pretty much all text in bold for visibility, since regular white font on black is hard to read.

yeah having a keyword in bold usually helps a bit, but don't overuse it.
Only use it there it actually makes sense

Well it is still considered one of Google's on-page factors but likely depreciated alot.

Unfortunately when thing depreciate the best you can hope for is inconclusive.

Nonetheless - it is still good for visitor scanning value - but rather than using only on keyword or keyphrase... better to use on important strings of text for highlighting -- visual scanability.

putting keywords (Within text) within <strong> tags once or twice (1 or 2 times per page not per KW) is a good idae.

there is simple theory what ever in bold format it will get more attention than others(that doesn,t mean keep everything in bold), But how much it varies SE to SE. I think it must be consider along with other on page opt. factors.

The same theory is that when you putting a link into a header tag you will incrase rank transfer.
I never saw a demonstration for that but I doubt there is an advantage useing this tehnique

mostly on this one, I think that the real crux of "words on a page" are to communicate with the website visitor. In that light, if the need is to boldd up type for a communication reason, then I do that, else plain text is fine.

SE's I've found after testing for both bold or plain text make no difference tween serps from our testing -- fact is I think that they ignore all <b> html....at least it's not apparent in any of our client serps.

others may have found out differently here, and would love to know that this may have changed since we tested about 2 years back....

anyone ?

:-)

Jim

PS old thread I do realize, but may be worth this 'rebirth' ?

I would not worry so much about bolding keywords if you do it too much it could look unnatural.

Making few keywords bold wouldn't make much difference. Some believe bold words stand out more to search engines. But sure it wouldn't have negative value on your site.
